01/15/2026, 14:06In 2026, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry will focus on chairing the SCO, hosting the SCO Summit in Bishkek and the VI World Nomad Games. These areas have been identified as key priorities by the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced that the main priority for 2026 will be Kyrgyzstan's chairmanship of the SCO and the hosting of the SCO Summit in the capital at the highest level. The VI World Nomad Games will also be an important international event.
In addition, the strategic directions of foreign policy remain unchanged: strengthening relations with strategic partners, maintaining a balanced multi-vector course, prioritising economic diplomacy and protecting the rights of Kyrgyz citizens abroad.
In 2026, special attention will be paid to the final phase of the campaign to nominate Kyrgyzstan as a member of the UN Security Council for 2027–2028.
