According to statistics from the National Statistics Committee, the yield of grain maize in 2025 was 74.5 centners per hectare, compared with 72.2 centners the previous year.
The largest maize harvest was recorded in the Chui Region – 287.1 thousand tonnes. The yield there reached 80.4 centners per hectare. In second place was the Osh Region, where 227.1 thousand tonnes were harvested at a yield of 78.6 centners per hectare.
The Jalal-Abad Region also recorded significant production volumes – 222.1 thousand tonnes – as did the Batken Region – 62.5 thousand tonnes.
The increase in the harvest is attributable to both an expansion in the area under cultivation and a rise in the average yield of the crop. In 2025, the area under maize cultivation increased by almost 1,600 hectares compared with the previous year.
