The head of the regulator also said that the loan portfolio grew by 32%. The main growth came to consumer loans and mortgages.
During the discussion, MP Nilufar Alimzhanova pointed out that the bulk of loans are issued for consumer needs, while small and medium-sized businesses, especially in agriculture, still lack affordable financing.
"Only 0.4% of all issued loans are directed to the processing sector. This is extremely low, and speaks of insufficient support for the real sector. I propose to develop a mechanism of preferential financing with elements of state support," she said.
