The KGS has strengthened against all major currencies—official exchange rates from the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic as of 20 March

The exchange rate of the rouble in Kyrgyzstan fell against the KGS on 20 March 2026. Between 16 and 20 March, the Russian currency depreciated by approximately 5.67% against the KGS.

According to the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, on 20 March the exchange rates of major currencies against the KGS showed a predominantly downward trend.

The US dollar weakened slightly—from 87.4500 to 87.4479 KGS, a fall of 0.0024%.

The euro fell by 0.6831% to 100.1672 KGS.

The Russian rouble fell by 2.4363% to 1.0332 KGS.

The Kazakhstani tenge lost 0.0551%, falling to 0.1813 KGS.

The Chinese yuan fell by 0.4338% to 12.6685 KGS.

A downward trend in the rouble was also recorded over a longer period: between 16 and 20 March, the exchange rate changed from 1.0953 to 1.0332 KGS. Thus, over three days, the rouble fell by 0.0621 KGS, which amounts to approximately 5.67%.
