The EEC Council approved amendments to the technical regulations for light industry products

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission has adopted amendments to the technical regulation “On the safety of light industry products.” The amendments were prepared by the Commission in conjunction with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The document clarifies the certification and conformity assessment schemes and procedures, bringing them into line with the model schemes approved by EEC Council Decision No. 44, taking into account the practice of applying the regulations.

Key innovations include the possibility of using test reports for subsequent batches of similar products within a year, as well as test reports for materials and components within three years for serial production. This will improve the efficiency of conformity assessment and reduce the administrative burden on manufacturers.

The adopted amendments will ensure the application of uniform conformity assessment procedures and the comparability of results in all EAEU countries. According to EEC representatives, the changes are part of a systematic review of conformity assessment procedures in the Union's technical regulations.
