Demand for dollars on the interbank market has fallen by a further 30 per cent

The volume of dollar transactions on Kyrgyzstan’s interbank foreign exchange market continued to decline. At the close of trading on 5 August, commercial banks had purchased $2.5 million.

Compared with the previous trading day, demand fell by $1.05 million, or 29.6 per cent. On 4 August, the volume of transactions stood at $3.55 million, and on 3 August at $7.35 million. Thus, over two days, the trading volume fell by almost two-thirds – a drop of 66 per cent.

For the fourth consecutive trading day, all transactions have been settled on the date the deal was concluded. No transactions with settlement at a later date were recorded.

The dollar exchange rate remains stable: trading on 5 August opened and closed at 87.45 KGS.
