It has been revealed how much the Ministry of Economy will pay rating agencies in 2026

The 2026 budget allocates 21.1 million KGS to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to pay for the services of international rating agencies — Moody's, Standard & Poor's, Fitch and Oppenheimer Europe Ltd.

For comparison, in 2024, the ministry was allocated almost 32 million KGS for similar services in the budget. This means that the amount allocated for the coming year will be reduced by almost 11 million KGS.

Sovereign credit ratings play a key role for Kyrgyzstan. They affect the cost of external borrowing and shape international investors' perception of the country.

In July 2025, Moody's changed its outlook on the country's credit rating from ‘Stable’ to ‘Positive’, confirming the issuer's long-term rating at B3. And for the first time in history, Fitch assigned Kyrgyzstan a ‘B’ rating with a ‘Stable’ outlook.
