Kyrgyzstan has secured a tariff exemption for cocoa powder imports into the EAEU

The EEC has approved Kyrgyzstan’s initiative to introduce a tariff exemption for cocoa powder. The decision was taken on 20 May at a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission Council.

Under the decision, 300 tonnes of cocoa powder will be exempt from import duties. The concession will remain in force until 31 December 2026.

As noted by the Commission, the measure is aimed at ensuring stable supplies of raw materials for the food industry, reducing production costs and supporting domestic manufacturers in the confectionery sector.

The decision is also expected to help develop the processing sector and strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s food security.
