10/02/2024, 13:21Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev with Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev assessed the readiness of the Bishkek CHPP for the autumn-winter period.
During the visit, they inspected electrostatic precipitators, mill equipment and pumps of new power units of the plant. Also, the personnel of the Bishkek CHPP together with the Chinese company ‘TVEA’ conducted a controlled test of power unit No. 3.
Unit 3 was put out for overhaul in June this year, and the completion of the overhaul was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the CHPP and TVEA staff. Within the overhaul, it is expected to restore the unit's capacity to design values.
Since commissioning in 2017, the overhaul of power units has not been carried out, which led to a decrease in installed capacity from 300 MW to 210 MW, especially noticeable during the heating season due to high heat and electricity loads. In addition, Unit 4 is expected to be re-commissioned in November this year. Before the new unit can start operation, the turbine unit must undergo a controlled test and remain energised for a certain time. Only after completion of these tests will the power unit be switched on.
