Toraga ZhK: cafes, despite the cancellation of service charges, have included them in the cost of food

Today, 28 January, at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Toraga Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu noted that there is dissatisfaction among the population regarding the service sector, and cited the situation in cafes and restaurants as an example.

According to him, despite the fact that service charges have been eliminated, café and restaurant owners have simply included them in the cost of food.

‘And this continues to have a negative impact on the population's pocketbooks. Therefore, before taking such steps, it was necessary to conduct an analysis. Our prices in all service sectors exceed those in the world's largest cities, whether it be taxis or hairdressers. The people are very unhappy about this’, —said the Toraga.

Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu criticised the cabinet for not taking any measures to address the situation.

‘In February, we must invite the executive branch to parliament and openly discuss these issues and the discontent of the people’, — he added.
