07/25/2025, 15:14Starting from July 1, 2026, the minimum charter capital for pawnshops is planned to be increased from 3 million to 20 million soms, the Financial Supervision Service reports.
This decision aims to enhance the financial stability of pawnshops, improve the quality of services provided, and expand their operations. Increasing the capital will allow pawnshops to modernize equipment, gain access to loans, and reduce interest rates for clients.
The agency notes that the current minimum capital no longer meets modern requirements and limits the sector's development. The new regulation will create conditions for the emergence of larger and more reliable companies, which will increase public trust and strengthen Kyrgyzstan’s non-banking financial market.
The draft is still under discussion, and all interested parties are invited to submit their proposals.
