Prices of standard gold bars from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan: a weekly review from ‘Akchabar’

Prices of standard gold bars from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan fluctuated significantly between 18 and 22 May.

Overall, during this week, the buy-back price fell by almost 2,000 soms, whilst the selling price fell by more than 10,000 soms.

At the start of the period under review, on 18 May, the buy-back price for a 31.1035-gram bar stood at 398,112 soms, whilst the selling price was 423,045 soms. By 19 May, the market had reached a local peak – the buy-back price rose to 401,382.5 som, whilst the selling price remained unchanged.

This was followed by a decline. By 20 May, the buy-back price had fallen to 395,374.5 som, whilst the selling price had dropped to 412,709 som. The decline continued the following day – on 21 May, the buy-back price stood at 394,163.5 som, marking the lowest level for this period.

On 22 May, the market recovered somewhat. The buy-back price rose to 396,122.5 som, whilst the selling price remained at 412,709 som.
