Fuel prices in Kyrgyzstan are rising in line with the global market

In March 2026, Kyrgyzstan saw a rise in fuel and lubricant prices against a backdrop of higher prices for Russian Urals crude and general tension in the global oil market.

The average price of fuel in March was 77.9 KGS per litre, compared with 77.4 KGS in February. The rise is linked to the increase in the cost of Russian oil against the backdrop of the escalating situation in the Strait of Hormuz, which has boosted demand for alternative supplies and increased price pressure on the market.

Analysts note that Kyrgyzstan remains sensitive to fluctuations in international oil prices, as a significant proportion of its fuel is imported. An additional source of pressure is the situation in the Russian petroleum products market, which remains a key supplier for the country.

Experts do not rule out that, should high volatility persist in the global oil market, price pressure on the domestic fuel market in Kyrgyzstan could intensify in the coming months.
