09/06/2026, 17:11In January–June 2026, producer prices in the electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply sector in Kyrgyzstan rose by 12.8 per cent. The main reason was a 27.2 per cent rise in prices at electricity supply companies, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
Producer prices in the sector for gas production and the distribution of gaseous fuel via gas supply systems rose by 5.7 per cent in the first half of the year.
In the water supply, waste treatment and recycling, and secondary raw materials sectors, producer prices rose by 0.4 per cent.
At the same time, telecommunications services for businesses, institutions and organisations as a whole fell by 0.7 per cent. Tariffs for telecommunications services have remained unchanged since the start of the year, whilst postal services fell by 14.5 per cent.
Consequently, the most significant change in the utilities sector was seen in electricity producers’ prices — their rise was more than double the overall increase in producers’ prices in the energy and gas supply sector.
