In 2024, China invested $286.5 million in the Kyrgyz economy

A meeting between Director Farkhat Iminov and Chinese Ambassador Liu Jianping took place at the National Investment Agency. The parties discussed priority areas for cooperation, including renewable energy, transport, raw materials processing, agriculture, and tourism.

In 2024, China became the largest investor in Kyrgyzstan with investments of $286.5 million, and trade between the countries grew to $22.71 billion. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the strategic China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which will strengthen the region's transit potential.

In addition, the prospects for the development of the digital economy were discussed, including the launch of a digital KGS and the creation of a state crypto reserve. Kyrgyzstan is open to cooperation with Chinese fintech companies.

As a result, it was agreed to hold regular meetings to coordinate joint projects and exchange information.
