A rehabilitation center for children with disabilities will be built in Archaly

To develop the system of pediatric rehabilitation care and improve the availability of specialized medical services, there are plans to design and build a modern rehabilitation center with educational and scientific-methodological functions in rehabilitation based on the existing Maksat rehabilitation center.

As part of the preparations for the project, Health Minister Kanybek Dosmambetov visited the existing Maksat center, familiarized himself with its material and technical base, the conditions for providing assistance to children, and the territory intended for further infrastructure development.

The project aims to create a rehabilitation town for comprehensive care for children with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, developmental delays, and other health impairments.

The rehabilitation center will include specialized centers and departments for inpatient, outpatient, and day rehabilitation, a correction center for children with ASD and Down syndrome, a modern center for children with cerebral palsy with 150 beds, a dormitory for parents and medical workers, as well as an educational and methodological unit.

The complex will include rehabilitation rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, a physical therapy and kinesitherapy unit, massage and physiotherapy rooms, sensory integration, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychology rooms, functional and ultrasound diagnostics rooms, occupational therapy areas, as well as open rehabilitation and play areas, including elements of hippotherapy – adaptive horse riding based on human-horse interaction, which improves physical and psycho-emotional well-being.

The town's activities will be based on the principles of evidence-based medicine, a multidisciplinary approach, and individual rehabilitation programs with the active participation of the family.

Particular attention will be paid to the training and professional development of specialists in the field of rehabilitation, the development of a family-oriented model of care, and the formation of a sustainable human resource capacity.

The project is in line with the priorities of state policy in the field of child health protection, the development of medical rehabilitation, and personnel training, and is considered a model for further scaling up in the country's regions. The implementation of the project will improve the quality and accessibility of rehabilitation care for children, improve functional and social recovery indicators, strengthen the role of the family in the treatment process, and establish a national center of excellence in the field of pediatric rehabilitation.
