05/22/2025, 12:52A bill has been submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh proposing to place the Arslanbab and Sary-Chelek forests under exclusive state ownership and prohibit the felling, damage, transport and sale of walnut and juniper trees on their territory. The initiative comes from MP Nrlanbek Azygaliyev.
The document aims to protect unique nut-bearing forests and support the development of ecotourism.
According to the draft, these areas will be under special state protection. The ban on interference with the natural environment will apply alongside the existing law prohibiting the harvesting and export of particularly valuable tree species.
