Kyrgyz banks received more than 1.3 trillion KGS in cash

Kyrgyz citizens are increasingly returning money to the banking system. According to the National Bank, in the second quarter of the year, 1 trillion 344.9 billion KGS passed through commercial bank cash desks, which is 6.3% more than a year earlier.

Virtually all the money issued has returned to the banks. The return rate was 97.2%. For comparison, last year this figure was slightly higher at 98%.

Most of the cash comes from bank cash desks and exchange offices – 484 billion KGS, as well as through ATMs and terminals – 315 billion KGS. In third place are proceeds from services rendered and work performed – 162 billion KGS.

Growth in volumes was recorded in almost all regions of the country. The largest inflow of cash was recorded in Bishkek, where more than 727 billion soms were received by bank cash desks.

  • In the Osh region — 47.8 billion KGS (100.3% return);
  • Chui region — 116.9 billion KGS (100.1%);
  • Osh — 158.8 billion KGS (92.5%);
  • Issyk-Kul region — 59.1 billion KGS (96.2%);
  • Talas region – 27.97 billion KGS (94.7%);

  • Jalal-Abad region – 120.8 billion KGS (92.1%);
  • Batken Region – 60.1 billion KGS (100.5%).

The high level of cash return indicates the stability of the financial system. More and more Kyrgyz citizens prefer to conduct transactions through banks, whether it be transfers, payment for services or storage of savings.
