In the Batken Region, there are plans to asphalt 146 kilometres of roads at a cost of 1.24 billion KGS

Work on the construction and repair of roads is continuing in the Batken Region. This year, the region plans to asphalt 146 kilometres of roads; 1 billion 241 million KGS have been allocated from the national budget for this purpose.

The works are funded from the national budget and are being carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

In the Batken District and the city of Batken, construction and asphalting of a number of important road sections are currently underway.

Specifically:

• a new four-lane road is being built on the 4.5-kilometre Batken–Zhany-Batken section;
• on the 1.3-kilometre-long Tuura-Tash–RPU section, asphalt is being laid. The estimated cost of the project is 13.1 million KGS;
• on the Buzhum–Batken–Kyzyl-Bel section, from kilometre 0 to kilometre 5, the asphalting has been completed. The cost is 36 million KGS;
• asphalt has been laid on the 5-kilometre section of the Aigul-Tash – Sogment – Tayan road. The estimated cost is 39.8 million KGS;
• asphalting has been completed on the 4.7-kilometre Tayan – Kan – Zardaly section. Cost: 36 million KGS;
• asphalt has also been laid on the 4.7-kilometre section of the Kara-Bak – Chet-Kyzyl-Bai – Kara-Bak road. Cost: 36 million KGS;
• asphalt has been laid on a 1-kilometre section of the road leading to the village of Ravat. The estimated cost is 7.2 million KGS.

In addition, construction of the major road projects Sary-Talaa–Kyzyl-Tash–Zardaly and Min-Oruk–Samarkandek is continuing in the Batken District.

During an inspection of the road works, Baktybek Toksonsbaev, First Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Batken Region, drew attention to the quality of construction, compliance with design requirements and the timeliness of the works.

According to the President’s Plenipotentiary Representative in the Batken Region, the implementation of these road projects should improve the region’s transport links and create the conditions for its further socio-economic development.
