Two-thirds of coal for the 2025-2026 heating season has been stockpiled in Bishkek

As of 11 November, 159,400 tonnes of coal had been stockpiled in the capital out of the planned 240,200 tonnes, or 66.3%. Monitoring of stocks and prices continues.

The Fuel and Energy Complex Department of the Bishkek City Hall reports that coal procurement for the upcoming heating season began in July 2025 and will continue until the end of the year. Available in warehouses: 3,741 tonnes at fuel depots, 195 tonnes at stationary sales points and 350 tonnes at the Kyrgyzkömür OJSC depot.

In conjunction with the Ministry of Energy, the State Environmental and Technical Inspection, the Ministry of Natural Resources, akimats and municipal administrations, inspections of fuel warehouses and sales points are being carried out. The main focus is on the availability of stocks, control of retail prices and the ban on the sale, storage and use of coal of the 0-13 mm fraction.

There are 10 fuel depots and several stationary sales points in Bishkek, located in all districts of the city, providing residents with access to coal sales.
