05/22/2025, 12:32The first resource centre in Kyrgyzstan to support mothers and children, called ‘Mother's House,’ has opened in Bishkek. The centre was established with the support of the international private foundation Mothers Home International Foundation (MHIF) and has become an important social initiative aimed at supporting women in difficult life situations.
The centre's goal and mission is to prevent social orphanhood, provide comprehensive assistance to mothers with newborn children, restore women's rights and promote their independence. As part of the centre's activities, women receive temporary safe housing, psychological and legal assistance, support in restoring documents, assistance in finding employment and social adaptation. The centre has become the first model platform in the country aimed at preventing family crises and providing systematic support to women and children.
The event was attended by members of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) – Vinera Kalybekova, Aisuluu Mamashova, Kyial Zhanuzakova, Deputy Minister of Health Kaarmanbek Baidavletov, representatives of crisis centres and public organisations. Nazgul Turdubekova, regional representative of the Mother's House project in Kyrgyzstan, presented detailed information about the mission and development prospects of the centre. Guests of the event were able to familiarise themselves with the living conditions and support provided to women with children, talk to the founders and specialists of the centre, and discuss issues related to the further development of the maternity support system in Kyrgyzstan.
The opening of this centre is a significant step towards the formation of sustainable, humane and systematic support for women and children in crisis situations, as well as a contribution to the development of the country's social policy.
