11/06/2025, 14:42The city council has announced a large-scale programme to develop a network of modern public toilets, which, according to officials, will not just be ‘sanitary facilities’ but full-fledged elements of a comfortable urban environment.
A meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev was held to determine 26 new locations for the installation of sanitary facilities — from Ulitka on Shopokova to the Ala-Too cinema and the boulevard near the 4th city hospital. So now, city residents will not be caught off guard by necessity in a park or shopping centre.
The choice of locations is not random — experts analysed pedestrian and traffic flows, as well as the results of resident surveys.
Special attention was paid to inclusivity. All new sanitary facilities will be built according to the principle of ‘accessible to all’.
