Illegal recruitment of citizens for work in Russia thwarted in Bishkek

Staff from the Centre for the Employment of Citizens Abroad, under the Ministry of Labour of the Kyrgyz Republic, in conjunction with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, have prevented an attempt to illegally recruit citizens for work in Russia.

According to the ministry, mass recruitment was taking place in Bishkek at 1 Kadyrbay-Ata Street. The organisers were offering employment abroad but did not have official authorisation to carry out such activities.

During the inspection, law enforcement officers established the fact of the violation, following which an administrative report was drawn up under Article 95 of the Code of Offences – ‘illegal employment of citizens’.

In addition, explanatory discussions were held with participants and organisers regarding the procedure for legal employment abroad. Citizens were reminded of the risks of illegal migration and the need to check that intermediaries hold the necessary permits.

The Centre emphasised that sending Kyrgyz citizens to work abroad is permitted only with the relevant authorisation. Information on licensed companies can be checked on the agency’s official website.
