Another 248 applications for land amnesty were reviewed in Bishkek

In the Leninsky District of Bishkek, the Land Amnesty Commission reviewed 248 applications from citizens. The meeting took place on September 22, and following the proceedings, appropriate decisions were made regarding each case.

The land amnesty allows citizens to formalize ownership rights, in accordance with the procedure established by law, to land plots and other properties that fall under its terms but previously lacked the necessary title documents. The amnesty procedure is governed by the Law “On the Regulation of Land-Law Relations” and a 2022 Cabinet of Ministers resolution.

In 2026, the procedure was further revised. In May, the Cabinet of Ministers amended the procedure for implementing the land amnesty in accordance with a presidential decree on completing the state’s work to secure citizens’ property rights to such properties. Following the commission’s decision, property rights are subject to registration in accordance with established procedures.

Work in Bishkek continues in all districts. According to city hall data, by mid-2026—since the start of the land amnesty in the capital—approximately 290 commission meetings had been held and about 30,000 cases had been reviewed. Approximately 14,000 applications were approved, and corresponding resolutions were adopted.

In the Leninsky District, at just one of the August sessions, the commission reviewed another 702 cases; of these, 86 were approved, while some were forwarded for urban planning reviews and public notice.
