Bishkek to tighten controls on amusement rides ahead of summer

Bishkek City Council has announced new safety measures and price controls for the city’s amusement rides. Particular attention will be paid to children and people with disabilities.

The meeting, chaired by Deputy Mayor Viktoria Mozgacheva, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs, the health service and the antitrust authority. They discussed equipment safety, pricing policy, unauthorised trading and the accessibility of children’s play areas.

There are currently six amusement parks and ten playgrounds in shopping centres operating in Bishkek, with two parks undergoing renovation. The authorities plan to carry out inspections of rides, ‘train rides’, trampolines and catering facilities, as well as implementing measures to accommodate children with special needs.
