05/27/2026, 12:15To improve road safety and to maintain and extend the service life of municipal roads, temporary traffic restrictions on heavy goods vehicles are being introduced within the city of Bishkek.
In accordance with an order from Bishkek City Council, from 20 May to 1 October 2026, daily from 09:00 to 19:00, the movement of goods vehicles with a maximum authorised gross weight exceeding 18 tonnes will be restricted when the daytime air temperature reaches 28 degrees or higher.
The restriction applies to municipal roads in Bishkek.
These requirements do not apply to:
The municipal administrations of the Pervomaisky, Oktyabrsky, Leninsky and Sverdlovsky administrative districts have been instructed to carry out information and awareness-raising activities among individuals and legal entities engaged in freight transport within the capital.
The Patrol Service Department of the Bishkek City Police Headquarters and the Municipal Inspectorate of the Bishkek City Council have been instructed to ensure compliance with this order.
The Bishkek City Council urges drivers and transport companies to treat these temporary measures with understanding and to comply with the restrictions in place.
