The main issue raised by residents with the authorities in the Chui Region has been identified

The majority of enquiries from residents of the Chui Region relate to land issues. This was reported by Elkinbek Ashirbaev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic’s authorised representative in the Chui Region, as part of the ‘Open Office’ project.

According to him, around 90 per cent of the issues raised during meetings with the public concerned personal problems, a significant proportion of which relate to land disputes.

He cited mistakes made by local authorities in previous years, unlawful decisions and delays in formalising property rights as the causes of these conflicts.
