The quality of pre-school education is being assessed in the Chui region

The Department of Education Quality Development is conducting a pilot monitoring of the quality of preschool education using the international IDELA methodology. Fifteen kindergartens in Bishkek and the Sokuluk district are participating, covering about 300 children in the older age group.

The monitoring is being carried out as part of the Altyn Kazyk programme and the transition to 12-year education.

The main objective of the study is to obtain objective data on the extent to which pre-school organisations can create conditions for the development, learning and safety of children, as well as to test the adaptation of the methodology to the conditions in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Raushan Ymanova, director of preschool educational institution No. 59, teachers have undergone training and instruction as part of the IDELA tool testing.

In October 2025, based on the pilot, large-scale national monitoring will take place. Its results will help assess children's readiness for school, improve programmes and teacher training, and create a system for evaluating the quality of preschool education.
