A substation will be built in the city of Jalal-Abad

On the initiative of the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and OJSC ‘NESK’, a 110/35/6 kV substation will be built in Jalal-Abad.

The need for the substation arose due to a shortage of electricity in the city, as the number of consumers is growing rapidly every year. The installation of a 16 MVA power transformer will reduce the load on the 6 kV power lines from the Jalal-Abad and Klyuchevaya substations and improve the quality of service to consumers.

In this regard, the Jalal-Abad city administration has allocated a 0.7-hectare plot of land at the intersection of Kurortnaya and Rassvet-1 streets, and earthworks are currently underway to plan the site.

Once the substation is completed, the power shortage will be eliminated. The construction of the substation is included in the capital construction programme of the Jalal-Abad Power Grid Enterprise and is scheduled for completion by autumn 2025. Funds in the amount of KGS 20 million have been provided by OJSC «NESK».
