06/19/2025, 14:07During a working trip to the Jalal-Abad region, Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev took part in the opening ceremony of the new Kok-Art high-voltage substation located in the village of Taran-Bazar, Suzak district.
The substation was built to provide electricity for the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which runs along the Great Silk Road. Work began in April this year and was carried out by the Chinese Railway Construction Company.
Two power lines run from the new substation.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and commissioned on the basis of an agreement between OJSC ‘NES Kyrgyzstan’ and the Chinese-Kyrgyz Railway Construction Company. The necessary capacity to power the substation was provided by the Jalal-Abad Electric Grid Company.
