A bridge damaged by a mudslide has been repaired in the Grigorievsky Gorge

In the Grigorievsky Gorge in the Issyk-Kul District, a bridge that had been damaged by heavy rain and rising water levels in the Chon-Ak-Suu River has been repaired.

Repair work on the bridge was completed today, 9 July. Specialists and equipment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Sadyr-Ake aiyl okmotu, and the company ‘China Road’ were involved in the work.

The bridge is of vital importance to local residents, livestock farmers and tourists visiting the gorge.

Earlier, on 2 July, torrential rain in the Issyk-Kul district caused the water level in the Chon-Ak-Suu River to rise sharply, resulting in damage to the fifth bridge in the Grigorievka Gorge, rendering it unfit for use.

Following the restoration work, traffic across the bridge has resumed.
