In the Issyk-Kul region, the Altai variety of sea buckthorn produced a high yield

Sea buckthorn of the Altai variety, planted five years ago in the village of Bokonbaevo in the Tonsky district of the Issyk-Kul region, showed a high yield and good fruit quality in 2025. This was reported by the Ministry of Water and Agriculture.

According to the ministry, one of the main features of this variety is the absence of thorns, which makes it easier to care for the plant and significantly simplifies harvesting. The fruits are large, juicy, and have a pleasant taste.

At the moment, sea buckthorn of this variety is sold from the fields at a price of 600 KGS per kilogram, and on the market the cost reaches 800-1 thousand KGS, which indicates high demand.

According to experts, Altai is suitable not only for private gardens, but also for industrial plantations. The Ministry of Agriculture continues to support the introduction of productive, market-oriented varieties in order to increase farmers' incomes and promote the effective development of the country's agricultural sector.
