Construction of a modern sports complex is underway in the Kashka-Suu neighbourhood of Karakol. The project is funded by the Stabilisation Fund and is being implemented by the Ministry of Construction.

The total area of the sports complex will be 12 hectares. According to the architectural plans, the complex will include a sports boarding school with 275 places, a multi-purpose sports complex with 5,000 spectator seats meeting international standards, an Olympic-standard swimming pool and a 200-room hotel.

Construction of the facility began in June this year. The state-owned enterprise ‘Kyrgyzkurulush’ is acting as the main contractor.

At present, walls are being built from aerated concrete blocks on the 4th and 5th floors of the 200-bed hotel. Reinforcement work is underway on the second floor of the training school building and the ground floor of the hostel building. There are currently 120 workers on site.

The project will create the conditions for training athletes, holding training camps and organising international-level competitions, as well as making a significant contribution to the development of the country’s sports infrastructure.
