Kyrgyzstan received 10 million less in US currency from remittances by individuals

In the first six months of the year, 221 million US dollars were transferred to Kyrgyzstan. This money was sent by migrant workers and private individuals. It should be noted that these are only transfers made in US dollars.

In the second quarter of 2025, the volume of dollar inflows reached $115.1 million, which is 2.2% more than a year earlier. At the same time, the number of transactions decreased by 18.8% to 160,400. This indicates that the average amount of transfers is growing.

In the first quarter, however, the volume of incoming transfers in dollars amounted to $105.9 million, which is 10.5% less than in the same period of 2024. As a result, $221 million was sent to the country in the first half of the year. This is $10 million less than in the first half of 2024.

At the same time, Kyrgyz citizens themselves sent about $199.5 million abroad — $87.3 million in the first quarter and $112.2 million in the second. This is 9.98% more than a year ago, when dollar transfers from the country amounted to $181.4 million. Thus, due to the reduction in dollar transfers and the growth in their outflow, the country was left with half as much American currency, $21.5 million compared to $49.6 million a year earlier.
