01/16/2026, 12:50According to the results of 2024, the actual expenditure of the population of Kyrgyzstan on bank deposits is recorded only in the Naryn and Chui regions. In the Naryn region, the average investment was 11.57 KGS per person per month, and in the Chui region, it was 2.16 KGS. In the rest of the country, there were no expenditures on bank deposits.
No purchases of foreign currency by the population were recorded during the reporting period. In all regions, the indicator was 0 KGS, which indicates a low propensity of households to save and invest.
The average monthly cash expenditure per capita in the republic amounted to 6,947.64 KGS. The minimum level of expenditure was recorded in the Batken region – 5,289.46 KGS, and the maximum – in Bishkek, where the indicator reached 10,017.74 KGS.
Expenditure above the national average was also recorded in the Issyk-Kul region and in the capital. It was below average in the Batken, Jalal-Abad and Osh regions.
The majority of the population's cash expenditure is on consumption. On average across the country, this figure was 6,026.19 KGS per month, or about 87% of all expenditure. The most significant items are food, housing and utilities, transport and communication services.
Expenditure on savings, the purchase of financial assets and currency transactions remains minimal. The data indicate the dominance of the current consumption model and the limited ability of households to build up savings.
