It’s no secret that the country is experiencing a construction boom. Over the course of seven months, 743,900 square meters of single-family housing were completed nationwide. The most construction took place in the Jalal-Abad and Chui regions, the Osh region, and Bishkek.
There are five large cement plants operating in Kyrgyzstan with a combined capacity of about 8.4 million metric tons per year. However, domestic production is insufficient to fully meet demand. Consequently, cement imports are growing even faster.
