Certain batches of Nestlé baby food recalled in Kyrgyzstan

The Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance announced that it had received official notification from Forester LLC, the distributor of Nestlé baby food products in Kyrgyzstan.

According to information provided by Nestlé Russia, a decision has been made to voluntarily recall a limited number of batches of dry instant milk, fermented milk, and lactose-free mixtures.

The recall is being carried out as a precautionary measure as part of a global voluntary recall and is related to the potential risk of the presence of the toxin cereulide in one of the raw material components.

The official distributor has already begun measures to withdraw the specified batches from the retail network in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Department recommends that consumers check the name and date of manufacture of the infant formula they are using; if it matches the recalled batches, stop using the product; contact the point of purchase for a refund and replacement.

For clarification of the list of batches, please contact the official distributor, Forester LLC.

According to the manufacturer, the recall affects a limited number of batches.

Cereulide is a toxin produced by certain strains of Bacillus cereus bacteria that is resistant to high temperatures. Possible symptoms of consuming products with high toxin content may include vomiting and diarrhea and resemble the symptoms of food poisoning.
