Student grants in Kyrgyzstan are to be increased from September 2027

President Sadyr Zhaparov has signed a decree increasing grants for students at state educational institutions providing primary, secondary and higher vocational education, as well as for those undertaking postgraduate programmes.

The increase will come into effect on 1 September 2027. The document does not specify the exact amounts of the new payments. This was reported in the newspaper ‘Erkin Too’.

The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to take the necessary measures and to provide for the funding of the scholarship increases when drafting the republican budget for 2027 and the planning period 2028–2029.

The decree also repeals the previous document on scholarship increases, adopted in January 2005.
