A prize fund of 18 million KGS will be established in Kyrgyzstan for the best local administrations

The Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allocate 18 million KGS to reward the most effective local administrations and the President’s representatives in the regions. Decree No. 526 was signed by the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on 7 August 2026.

The performance of local authorities in 2025 will be assessed against various indicators. A ranking will be compiled at the end of the year, and new assessment criteria will be added to it.

The Ministry of Finance has been instructed to allocate funds in the budget and establish a prize fund of 18 million KGS to reward the top-ranked authorities.

The aim is to encourage local authorities to work more effectively and take greater responsibility for the development of their regions.

The decree will come into force 15 days after its official publication.
