Criteria for assessing biological risks have been approved in Kyrgyzstan

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved criteria for monitoring and assessing biological risks, as well as a list of organisations authorised to carry out such assessments. The relevant Resolution No. 527 was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on 7 August 2026.

According to the document, the criteria will be used to monitor and assess biological risks as part of the implementation of the Law ‘On Biological Safety in the Kyrgyz Republic’. A separate list has been approved of organisations authorised to carry out biological risk assessments.

Funding for measures to implement the resolution will be provided within the limits of the approved staffing levels of the relevant ministries and departments and from funds allocated in the national budget for the relevant year and subsequent years.

The resolution will come into force 10 days after its official publication.
