A proposal has been made in Kyrgyzstan to develop a program for the development of gas fields

The Jogorku Kenesh recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers develop and implement a special program for the development of natural gas fields in Kyrgyzstan. This measure is included in the resolution on preparing the economy and the population for the fall-winter period of 2026–2027, adopted on October 26.

At the same time, parliament proposed revising the investment program of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC to take into account the current needs of the population. The Cabinet of Ministers was recommended to increase the volume of preferential financing for gasification projects for low-income families and to lower interest rates. When laying gas pipelines, residents must be kept informed at all stages of connecting settlements to the network.

A separate set of recommendations concerns the reliability of energy supply during the winter. Lawmakers called for ensuring uninterrupted supplies of electricity, heat, and natural gas; preventing unjustified outages; and completing all planned capital and routine repairs to prevent accidents. It was also proposed to accelerate the installation of an automated commercial electricity metering system (ASKUE).

The Cabinet of Ministers was recommended to provide the population with high-quality coal at stable prices. Budget-funded organizations must receive their full allocation of fuel, with hospitals and educational institutions receiving priority before a sustained cold snap sets in.

To supply the Bishkek Thermal Power Plant, parliament proposed ensuring the timely delivery of the necessary number of open-top railcars for transporting coal. In addition, it is recommended that measures be taken to prevent state-funded institutions from accumulating debts for electricity, heat, and gas.

In the transportation sector, lawmakers called for ensuring the continuous clearing of national highways and mountain passes, as well as strengthening controls over the weight and dimensions of freight vehicles to prevent damage to road surfaces.

Information on the progress of the resolution’s implementation must be submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh on a quarterly basis. Oversight has been entrusted to the parliamentary committee on industrial policy, transportation, the fuel and energy complex, architecture, and construction.
