Practical Testing of Automated Halal Monitoring System Implemented in Kyrgyzstan

On 12 December 2024, an important meeting was held in the conference hall of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, initiated by the SE ‘Halal Industry Development Centre’ under the MEC KR.

The event brought together representatives of the SE ‘Infocom’ under the Ministry of Digital Development of the Kyrgyz Republic and market participants of halal products and services working through the ‘State Portal in the sphere of halal industry of the Kyrgyz Republic’.

The main purpose of the meeting was practical testing of the automated system for monitoring halal products. The participants of the meeting received comprehensive information about the activities of authorised bodies responsible for the development of the halal industry in Kyrgyzstan.

It is important to note that there was practical testing of certification bodies and discussion of proposals between market participants aimed at improving the functioning of the new system. Discussions also included an exchange of views on providing information to entrepreneurs in the halal industry, testing the functionality of the installed system and strategies for its effective implementation.

‘The State Portal of the Kyrgyz Republic in the halal industry’ is a unified automated information system for the control of certified halal products and services. Upon completion of full testing, this system will be integrated with the interagency electronic interaction system ‘Sever’ to simplify interaction between certification and authorised bodies.

According to paragraph 101 of the action plan of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2024, it is envisaged to create an information system for the supervision of halal products. In order to implement this measure, a contract was concluded with the Centre for Halal Industry Development and GP Infocom for the implementation of the project in 2023.

At the moment, the ‘State portal in the sphere of halal industry of the Kyrgyz Republic’ is successfully functioning in the KG zone and is being tested among participants in the turnover of halal products and services.
