There are 39 companies with Hong Kong capital operating in Kyrgyzstan

There are 39 companies with Hong Kong capital operating in Kyrgyzstan. This was announced by Iskender Asylkulov, Deputy Minister of the Economy, at a meeting of the Parliament’s Committee on International Affairs, Defence, Security and Migration.

At the Committee meeting, the draft law ‘On the Ratification of the Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China for the Avoidance of Double Taxation’ was considered and approved at first reading.

According to Iskender Asylkulov, Deputy Minister of Economy, there are currently 39 companies with Hong Kong capital operating in Kyrgyzstan. Over the first seven months of this year, they have paid 97 million KGS in tax.

At present, these companies pay taxes in both Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong. Should the agreement be ratified, they will be exempt from double taxation. This, in turn, will create the conditions for an increased inflow of investment from Hong Kong into Kyrgyzstan and a rise in tax revenues.

According to Asylkulov, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong amounted to $26.2 million in 2025. Of this, Kyrgyzstan imported goods worth $23.6 million and exported goods worth $2.6 million. Kyrgyzstan’s main exports to Hong Kong are cigarettes and aviation kerosene, which account for 95 per cent of exports.

Kyrgyzstan has currently signed double taxation agreements with 38 countries.
