There are 757 agricultural co-operatives operating in Kyrgyzstan, with almost a third of them in the Jalal-Abad region

As of 1 January 2026, 930 agricultural co-operatives were registered in Kyrgyzstan, of which 757 are active in crop and livestock farming. A further 81 cooperatives were established in 2025 but have not yet commenced operations.

According to data from the National Statistics Committee at the start of 2026, active agricultural cooperatives comprise 2,757 peasant (farmer) holdings, and the total area of land they cultivate amounts to 75,700 hectares. The Jalal-Abad region has the highest number of active cooperatives — 252. This is followed by the Naryn (138), Talas (111) and Osh (89) regions.

In total, there are 930 agricultural co-operatives listed in the register of statistical units. Of these, 173 report on other types of activity – finance, trade, services or industry – whilst 757 report on crop and livestock farming.
