09/25/2026, 16:53The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft investment agreement with Lifan Battery Plant LLC regarding the expansion of the company’s production capacity. The decree was signed on 22 September.
The plant is being built on the Ak-Zhar site in the Kara-Suu district of the Osh region. The company’s main registered activity is the manufacture of electrical equipment for motor vehicles. The documents do not specify exactly which types of batteries it intends to produce.
In April 2026, the Osh Region authorities estimated the cost of the project at $10 million and reported that 70 per cent of it had been completed. Once the plant was operational, it was expected to create 120 jobs. These figures related to the original construction project, rather than to the new expansion agreement.
The head of the National Investment Agency under the President is authorised to sign the agreement on behalf of the Cabinet of Ministers.
