Kyrgyzstan wants to introduce taxpayer ratings — conscientious businesses may be given tax breaks

The State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan plans to introduce a taxpayer rating system that will allow for a new approach to assessing companies' tax compliance. The relevant mechanism is being developed as part of a draft resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the State Tax Service, Kubanychbek Ysabekov, on Birinchi Radio.

The new system will apply to both small and large businesses. The rating will be based on several criteria, including timely and full payment of taxes, absence of violations, accurate reporting, stable operations, and job creation.

Another important indicator will be the tax burden, i.e., the level of taxes paid compared to the average values in the relevant industry.

As Kubanychbek Isabekov noted, companies that demonstrate high tax discipline can receive a high rating and, along with it, additional benefits from the state.

“If a company's invoices and entire system are in order and there are no violations, then it is possible to refrain from conducting audits, provide preferential loans, or develop separate support programs,” explained the deputy head of the State Tax Service.

In the future, this mechanism may be transformed into a broader business rating system that will take into account not only tax discipline but also the business reputation of companies.

In addition, elements of corporate social responsibility may be included in the system in the future, such as companies' participation in charitable initiatives and support for socially vulnerable groups.
