02/26/2025, 15:32The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan summarised the results of 2024. According to the ministry, KGS 1 billion was allocated for gasification of settlements. This made it possible to connect 19,300 new subscribers to the gas pipeline.
In general, several major projects were implemented in the country's energy sector in 2024. Rehabilitation of hydroelectric units at the Toktogul and Uch-Korgon HPPs was completed, which made it possible to increase their capacity. New small and solar power plants were commissioned, the Orto-Tokoi reservoir is under construction and the Lebedinskaya HPP is being reconstructed.
Investment agreements have also been signed for 2.5 GW of solar generation, and the World Bank plans to provide funds for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1. Kyrgyzstan continues to modernise its energy infrastructure, upgrading substations and transmission lines, and strengthening international cooperation in the sector.
