Financial irregularities were revealed in the Ministry of Industry

The Chamber of Accounts of Kyrgyzstan has completed the audit of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision's budget execution for 2023, revealing violations worth KGS 494.9 million.

The main problems relate to insufficient coverage of economic entities with payments for environmental pollution and under-receipt of payments to the budget.

Particular attention was paid to insufficient pollution charges, for example, in Bishkek only 2.2% of entities made the relevant payments. In Chui oblast, KGS 13.8 million for solid waste disposal was not received in 2023.

Underpayments for air pollution fees and subsoil licence fees in the amount of KGS 213.3 million were also identified. Based on the results of the audit, recommendations were given to improve control and eliminate violations.
