03/18/2026, 16:53The Ministry of Labour of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the World Bank, discussed strengthening social protection and the digitalisation of services to support low-income citizens, the Ministry of Energy reported.
A meeting took place at the Ministry of Labour of the Kyrgyz Republic between Deputy Minister Mirlanbek Baigonchokov and the Head of the World Bank Office in the Kyrgyz Republic, Hugh Riddell.
During the talks, the parties discussed ongoing cooperation and the implementation of a project sub-component aimed at strengthening the social protection system as part of the modernisation of the country’s electricity sector. Particular attention was paid to progress in the digitalisation of social services, improving support mechanisms for low-income citizens and enhancing the effectiveness of social programmes.
