A major market for Kyrgyz agricultural produce has opened in Novosibirsk, providing access to Russian retail chains

The ‘Ala-Too’ wholesale and retail market has opened in Novosibirsk, designed to promote and sell agricultural produce from Kyrgyzstan.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the market has been opened by Ala-Too LLC on the premises of the Khiloksky shopping centre and will serve Russia’s Siberian Federal District.

The site covers 10.7 hectares and includes car parks for passenger and goods vehicles, storage facilities with and without refrigeration, mini-warehouses, containers, trading pavilions and a hostel for hauliers.

The market has been established for the storage, logistics and sale of agricultural produce, as well as to enable suppliers to access Russian retail chains.

A certification laboratory compliant with Russian standards is currently being set up on the site, which will eventually facilitate supplies to the ‘Lenta’, ‘Pyaterochka’ and ‘Auchan’ chains.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic invites domestic producers and exporters to use the site to expand their presence in the Russian market.
